Phyllis Harris Tate, age 79, of Dallas, GA, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016. She was born August 14, 1936 in Orlando, FL, to the late Herbert Thomas Harris & Mae Elise Mock Harris, and was preceded in death by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve & Betty Bartish, brother-in-law, Guy Stone. Mrs. Tate worked many years as a administrative assistant for Ryder Truck Company and was a member of Rockmart First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Chuck Tate, three sons & daughter-in-laws, Douglas & Clare Tate of Hiram, GA, Tracy & Mahalianne Tate of Litha Springs, GA, Tim & Babs Tate of Douglasville, GA; sister, Audrey Stone of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Nic Tate, Sarah Tate, Ashley Tate, Matthew Tate, Michael Tate, Zac Tate and Emily Tate.
Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 10 AM from the chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Thompson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Georgia National Cemetery at 12:30 PM in Canton GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 5PM until 8PM.
