Ralph E. Yoos, born July 7, 1947 is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gwen Jo Hamill Yoos, and brother Bob (E. Robert) Yoos of Lawrence, Kansas (wife Joanne Bergman Yoos). Two daughters: JoHannah Elizabeth Mosley-Kirk (Patrick Kirk) and Robbi Moody (Chris Sonnedecker). Five grandchildren are Tynleigh Moody (18), Sean Mosley (16), Karrington Moody (15), Isabelle Mosley (14), and Skye Sonnedecker (13). Ralph also has many cousins surviving him.
Ralph was born and grew up in Emporia, Kansas. After helping in his parents decorating business, at age 17 he joined the Navy and made a career out of it. He retired after 29 years, being stationed in many locations, he participated in the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He married and raised two daughters while in the Navy and retired as an ICChief in 1994. After moving to Georgia in 1990, he participated in political life, National Elections, and became involved with Congressman Barry Loudermilk's first and future campaigns. He's been a member of the American Legion here for over 25 years. He also attended North Georgia Walk to Emmaus Face-to-Face#5. Ralph was an active member of McEachern UMC for 34 years.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 09, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral Service for Ralph will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Mark Jordan, Pastor Cindy Blocksidge, and Congressman Barry Loudermilk officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Legion of Emporia, Kansas, or the local American Legion or the North Georgia Walk to Emmaus.
