It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ray C. Estes, who peacefully left this world on December 9, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on April 25, 1938, in Centre, Alabama, to the late Dennis and Amy Lou Estes, Ray lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting legacy for all who knew him.
A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Ray's military service played a fundamental role in shaping his character, instilling the values of commitment, perseverance, and honor that defined his life. Following his service, he dedicated 28 years as a supervisor at Bekaert Wire.
Ray was a man of great passions and interests. He had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, particularly enjoying visits to the casino. An avid fan of Georgia football and the Atlanta Falcons, he took great pleasure in supporting his teams. Ray also found peace and fulfillment in fishing, a reflection of his love for nature and quiet moments. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his grandchildren, whose presence brought him immense pride and happiness.
Known for his down-to-earth personality and his ability to connect with others, Ray was a man of genuine warmth and humor. He stayed informed about the world by reading the newspaper, maintaining a keen awareness of current events. His kindness and laughter will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Estes and Larry Estes, and his sisters, Betty Lou Estes and Debra Lynn Estes.
Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Estes; his son, David (Carol) Estes; daughters, Missy (Mark) Kirkland, and Faith Toney; grandchildren, Drew Estes, Ben Estes, Bailey Estes, Mary Francis Trimeloni, and Abigayle Trimeloni, as well as several nieces, and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ray Clinton Estes lived life to the fullest and will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
Clark Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the services for Mr. Ray C. Estes.
