Ray Lee Glass, age 68, of Decatur, GA, formerly of Dallas, GA, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. He was born March 5, 1943, in Dallas, GA, the son of Odessia Lee Glass and the late, Rufus Glass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elease Pierce Glass. Mr. Glass was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Internal Revenue Service as an electrician and was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Christopher R. Glass of Decatur, GA; daughter, Angela Hardy of Atlanta, GA; mother, Odessia Lee Glass of Dallas, GA; brothers & sister-in-law, William R. Glass of Dallas, GA, Larry Glass of Douglasville, GA, and John & Ida Glass of Powder Springs, GA; sisters, Amy Glass-Green of Douglasville, GA, Linda P. Glass of Dallas, GA, Evelyn Hightower of Dallas, GA, and Bertha Mae Dodds of Dallas, GA; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 20, 2011, at 12:00 PM, from Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Arthur W. McCarver officiating. Mr. Glass will lie-in-state at the church from 11:00 AM until the service time. Interment will follow in Kennedy Memorial Gardens in Ellenwood, GA. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2011, from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
