Rebecca (Hammond) Haney

Rebecca Carol Haney of Dallas, Ga, passed away on July 12, 2022. She was born on September 7, 1952 to the late Ruth and Nathan Hammond. She was a faithful member of New Canaan Baptist Church and worked for the Cobb County School District for over 30 years. The students and staff remember her as being so kind, caring, and compassionate to all. Rebecca loved NASCAR, especially Chase Elliot, and she enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains. She had an adventurous spirit and was always ready for anything. Rebecca was the kind who never met a stranger and she'd make friends everywhere she went. Her family was very important to her and she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rebecca was deeply loved and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Nathan Hammond. Rebecca is survived by her son, Larry (Catherine) Haney Jr.; her two daughters, Melissa Wyatt and Virginia "Ginger" Filzen (Alptekin Teyrek); siblings, Jean (Frank) Sharkey, Lamar Manning, and Vickie Manning; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. A memorial service for Mrs. Haney will immediately follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Justin Harris, her grandson Greg Wyatt, and Eddie Bailey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards Shriner's Hosptial.
