Rev. J.B. Swafford

Reverend J.B. Swafford, age 76, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008. He was born on February 4, 1932, in Greenville, TN, to the late Allen and Ethel Mae Swafford. Mr. Swafford was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korea War and was the former pastor and founder of New Jerusalem Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Cowan Swafford; son, John Thomas Swafford; brothers, Albert E. Swafford and Edward J. “Puggy” Swafford.
Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Thomas & Ruth Swafford of Whitwell, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Frank & Lois Swafford of Dallas; sisters, Lois Allen of Dallas, Opal Brooks of Temple, Betty Bailey of Temple, Ann Blankinship of Dallas, Ethel Bailey of Temple; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 3 p.m., from Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Hightower officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
