Richard Wayne Parker, age 77, of Dallas, Georgia passed away on July 24, 2024. Richard was born in New York, New York on April 25, 1947, the son of the late Robert Raymond Parker and the late Rena Elsie Prast Parker. Richard was a retired serviceman from Atlanta Gas Light, dedicating 30 years of his life to serving the community and later continued his service with the City of Cartersville Water Department.

He had a heart full of love for his family and a passion for hunting and fishing, Richard's love for animals, especially his beloved dogs, was only surpassed by his love for his family. In his free time, Richard could often be found enjoying his favorite high school sports on television or relishing outdoor adventures in nature. His deep-rooted connection with animals and his unwavering devotion to his family defined his character and brought joy to those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Anthony Wayne "Tony" Parker and his grandson, Christopher Vinson.

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Marie Corley Parker; children and their spouses, Tim Parker, Michelle (Brent) Campbell, Heather (John) Shadder, and Emily (Jarod) Vincent; grandchildren: Cody Newborn, Abigail Shadder, Elizabeth Shadder, Alexander Shadder, Tybee Shadder, Christopher Shadder, Parker Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, and John Shadder, III; siblings and their spouses: Jeff (Ana) Parker, Clifford (Pat) Parker, and Linda (Steve) Blaylock; several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 pm. 

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Dallas Memory Gardens with Rev. Todd Tibbitts officiating. 

Interment will follow in Dallas Memory Gardens. Cody Newborn, Brent Campbell, Parker Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, Will Booker and Jarod Vincent will serve as Pallbearers.
