Richard J Peacock
When the Lord called his name on Thursday, January 25, 2024, Richard J Peacock was ready and waiting to enter into the joy of the Lord and hear, "Well Done, good and faithful servant." He laid down his earthly shell to gain a glorified body like that of His Savior Jesus Christ, as it says in 1 John 3:2, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
A humble worshipper, who worshipped with his tears, Richard loved His Savior and wanted to talk about Him with anyone who would take the time to sit and enjoy the conversation. He was a kind man with a quiet nature who always thought of others before himself.
Born September 23,1943 in Atlanta Georgia to Willie and Bonnie Peacock, Richard grew up in a Christian home and learned the value of family from his Mother. It is no surprise that his seven grandchildren brought him great joy, and he loved spending time with them. He spent 40 years as a dedicated worker at Lockheed and was an active member of New Life Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia. He enjoyed traveling and taking trips to the beach with his family; he especially enjoyed being in the water. He shared a loving home and happy marriage with his wife of 35 years, Loural; it would have been even longer, however Loural said it took her 10 years to talk him into marrying her.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of faith; he ran his race with faithfulness even through the difficult times, and there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness that he will receive from His Lord. He leaves his friends and family with the surety of the testimony that he was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What a reunion he is having with his son, Richard Jr, on the shores of heaven! He will also reunite with parents, Willie & Bonnie Peacock, Twin Brothers Jerry and Derry, and Sisters Lavoda and Barbara.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Loural, Children Jerry & Sandra, Janna and Anita, Grandchildren Brooke, Mitchell, Devan, Sierra, Demetri, Derrick, and Alaska, Great Grandchildren Brentley and Logan and Sister Glenda as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pall Bearers: Jackie Chastain, Joe McAdams, Nathan Bales, Jeremy Parish, Dan Smith, and Dwayne Howell
