Robert Lee Carter passed away on September 10, 2023. He was born on December 8, 1956, to the late James and Katherine Carter. Mr. Carter was raised in Smyrna, Georgia and graduated from Campbell High School. He moved with his family to Dallas, Georgia 35 years ago. He had retired from construction as a roofing contractor and had his own business, Carter's Roofing. Mr. Carter loved his family beyond measure and was an incredible figure in all their lives. He enjoyed being outdoors, watching NASCAR, the Falcons and the Steelers, and listening to all his favorite music. Robert was very loved, and his memory will continue to be loved and cherished by all who knew him.

Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents, James Marion and Katherine Irene Carter. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cheryl P. Carter (Boss); his son, Robert Nicholas Boss Carter; his daughter, Tara Nicole Carter-Howard; son-in-love, Johnny Howard; grandchildren, William Cameron Lee Carter, Carson James Carter Howard, and Robert Liam Carter Howard; brother, James M. Carter and Kathy Carter of Canton, Georgia; sister, Linda S. Gann of Panama City Beach, Florida; mother-in-law, Helen O. Barfield; brothers and sisters-in-law; Forrest and Scarlett Boss of Adairsville, Georgia, Scott and Elise Martin of Marietta, Georgia, Sheila and Mike Gunter of Resaca, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. Funeral Services for Mr. Carter will immediately follow at 3:00pm with Pastor Butch Cole officiating.
