Robert L. Westmoreland, age 79, of Dallas, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013. He was born in Griffin, GA, on September 4, 1933, and was preceded in death by his parents, Louis & Rosie Mae Westmoreland and two brothers, Ted Westmoreland and Michael Gene Westmoreland. Mr. Westmoreland was employed with Bennie Jones Lumber Company for many years, and later he worked for Coats & Clark Cotton Mills, then became self-employed in the Lawn Business. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully as a deacon for many years. Mr. Westmoreland was very knowledgeable about the word of God and really loved the Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Louise B. Westmoreland; step-sons, Lamar Burr (Jacqueline), Vincent Crawford and Damon Crawford; step-grandchildren, Lamar McCullough, Deidre McCullough, Bridgett, Kristopher Crawford, Corey Johnson & LeJon Crawford; brothers, Jimmy Westmoreland (Betty), Willie Westmoreland (Georgia), Walt Westmoreland (Doris), Rufus Westmoreland, and Henry Westmoreland; sisters, Victoria Bozeman (Manuel), Rosie Lee Westmoreland, Eunice McGarity (I. B.), Ruby Vaughan (Earnest), Sarah Thompson (A. Z.), and Sadie Stewart (Calvin); sisters-in-law, Bernice Diggs, Eloise Gordon, Rogerbell Tomlin, Willie Bell Bell, Jewell Montgomery (David), and Betty Jean Bostic; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 15, 2013, at 1:00 PM, from Shiloh Baptist Church, with Reverend Johnny McBurrows officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Meadows Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, April 15, 2013, from 11:00 AM until the service time.
