Robert Porter Womack, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Born on May 6, 1942, to the late Elbert Tommy Womack and the late Mamie Lura Edmonson Womack in Grove Oak, Alabama. Robert was a man of profound faith and exceptional kindness. His life was a testament to grace and humility, touching everyone he met with his unwavering devotion and loving spirit.
Robert devoted 42 years of his life to Aerospace Manufacturing at Lockheed Martin, where his expertise and commitment were highly regarded. However, it was his deep love for his family, his steadfast faith, and his passion for Alabama football that truly defined him. A dedicated supporter of the Crimson Tide, Robert followed every game with enthusiasm, his loyalty to the team reflecting his spirited approach to life.
A cherished member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Robert's devotion to the Lord was evident in his remarkable personal achievement of reading the Bible cover to cover six times, with a seventh reading nearly completed. In his personal life, he found joy and tranquility in his vineyard and garden, particularly in nurturing his tomatoes and blueberries. His simple pleasures reflected his genuine character and appreciation for the small, meaningful things in life.
Robert's legacy endures through his beloved wife of over 42 years, Yolanda Jo Womack; his sons Timothy (Johanna) Womack and Russell Womack; his daughters, Tina (Warren) Minshull and Celena (Trevor) Holladay; and his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kody Kimmons, Kyle Kimmons, Stephen (Laura) Womack, Chris Womack, Blaze (Danielle) Womack, Aidan Womack, Declyn Womack, Ryla Womack, and arriving soon, Emberlynn Rose Womack; several nieces and nephews also survive.
