It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Ralph DeGasto II, known to many as "Lil Roger," who passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 50 after an extended illness. Roger was born on February 18, 1975, in Rome New York, to his loving parents, Roger and Diana DeGasto.
Roger was the kind of person who could make anyone feel like family, always ready for a conversation that could go on for hours. He loved being home, surrounded by the people he cared about. Though he had a quick temper, he was just as quick to forgive, always putting his loved ones first and standing up for them no matter what. His protective nature and loyalty meant the world to his family, and he would go to great lengths to defend them.
A big fan of Syracuse sports, Roger cheered hard for his teams, sharing in their victories with excitement. He was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of his great niece, a moment that brought him so much joy in his final days.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, Roger Ralph DeGasto.
Roger is survived by his loving mother, Diana DeGasto; sister, Shawna DeGasto, niece Ginny DeGasto, soon-to-arrive great niece, and a host of extended family and friends. He'll be missed deeply by all who knew him.
At this time, there are no public services planned.
We find comfort in knowing that Roger's spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Clark Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the services for Mr. Roger Ralph DeGasto, II.
