Ronald Edward Phillips passed away on July 21, 2024. He was born on November 19, 1949, to the late Marvin and Mary Phillips in Jackson, Mississippi. Ronald retired from the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was extremely well traveled and loved his time in the Air Force. He worked for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office before retiring from the Paulding County Sheriff's Office in 2013 after over twenty years of service. Ronald loved serving his country and community and spent almost 45 years doing both. He also was a member of the Shriners and First Baptist Church in Dallas, Georgia.
Outside of work, he loved watching the Braves and Florida State Seminoles play ball and enjoyed cheering them on with family and friends. Ronald was a Coca-Cola enthusiast and was never seen without one in hand.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin H. Phillips and Mary Nell Phillips; his brothers, Richard H. Phillips, John R. Phillips; and his sister, Joy L. Ghafur.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Randell Phillips and Michael Steven Phillips; two grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; and his former wife, Susan Phillips.
In accordance with Mr. Ronald's wishes, there will be no services at this time.
