Ronald “Pappy” “Shag” Shipp entered Heavens embrace on Friday, June 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 16, 1941, to the late Willard Homer and Francis Aileen Shipp in Powder Springs, Georgia. He was an entrepreneur and owned his own Emission Testing business for many years. He took great comfort and enjoyment in attending church and hearing the gospel, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In his spare time he loved spending time with his family and being outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a loving father, Pappy, brother and friend to many and his absence will be felt by many.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his loving wife Betsy Shipp.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet (Keith) Davis, Kim (Andy) Smith; brother, Mike (Cynthia) Gibson; sister, Donna Jean Harvey; grandchildren, Alan (Tracy) Davis, Rusty (Jessica) Monk, Morgan (Austin) Crider; great-grandchildren Alana Davis, Jack Davis, Hudson Monk, Owen Crider, Audrey Monk, Aubree Crider; great-great-grandchildren, Selah Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Memorial Service for Ronald will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday June 24, 2023 AT 3:00 PM with Pastor Alan Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hiram First Baptist Church Building Fund in Ronald’s memory.
