Roy E. Crowe, age 90, of Clarkdale, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. He was born in Paulding County, July 18, 1917, to the late Esker Crowe and the late Mary Alice Wigley Crowe. Mr. Crowe was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian B. McClure Crowe; son,
Johnny Lee Roy Crowe; and sisters, Georgia Waters, Ruby McBee and Ruth Cotton. Mr. Crowe was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II and he was retired from Coats & Clark Textile Mill as a Production Recorder. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister & brother-in-law, Willow Rich & husband, James of Dallas; sisters-in-law, Betty Davis of Dallas, Louise McCrary of Dallas, Ruth Cooper of Dallas, Pearl Cole of Douglasville, Billie Butler of Dallas, Dollie Catha of Mobile, AL, and Marcelle McClure of Dallas; and many nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 10:00am, Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Chris Crew officiating and the eulogy will be delivered by Jeff Cole. Interment will follow in the New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Butler, Larry Waters, Dennis Rich, Kenny Cotton, Gene Pace, Junior McAfee, and Joe Fannin, with Chris Graham serving as the honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
