Biography

Mrs. Ruby Croker Clay, age 85 of Yorkville, GA, passed away at her home on April 13, 2014. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Hiram, GA. She was the owner of Clay’s Grocery in the Yorkville Community for 20 years and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Clay was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Jewell and Audie Mae Croker; sisters, Joy Smith and Ann Netzinger, and her husband, James Russell Clay, Sr.
Mrs. Clay is survived by her son, Jimmy Clay of Yorkville, GA and daughter and son-in-law, Rosalind and Henry Morgan of Yorkville, GA; brothers, Franklin Croker of Marietta, GA and Neil Croker of Waynesville, North Carolina; sisters, Audrey Aguilar of El Salvador and Marilyn Crowe of Dallas, GA; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Fennell officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens, Dallas, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
