Christine Cochran Young

Christine Cochran Young passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born on November 3, 1927, a daughter of the late John Bomar and Jesse Beatrice Huff in Dallas, Georgia. In addition to her parents, Christine is preceded in death by her husband of 54 Years Laymon Cochran and son Danny Cochran. 

Christine is survived by her husband; Dwight Young of Dallas, step-daughters; Sharon Maddox, Sandy (David) Burnham, Brenda Ferrell, and Peggy (Ron) Chase and their families, a son; Dwayne (Pam) Cochran, grandchildren; Kimberly Cochran Barron, Jeffrey (Brandy) Cochran, Chris (Allie) Cochran,  Haley (Nathan) Campbell, and Brent Cochran, great-grandchildren; Bryce Barron, Bryden Barron, Sawyer Barron, Landon Cochran, Chandler Adams, Adeline Cochran, Amelia Cochran, Grace Cochran,  daughter-in-law; Susan (Danny) Cochran, sister-in-law; Monnie Cochran Rainwater and many nieces and nephews.

Christine Cochran Young was a devout Christian and disciple who served our lord faithfully.  She was a godly woman that shared the gospel and touched the lives of everyone she met. Christine leaves behind a legacy and was deeply loved.  She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and a faithful saint to New Canaan Baptist Church.  Her spirituality has brought her peace and comfort in difficult times she's faced in her life.  Her faith and unwavering belief in a greater purpose has been an inspiration to all of those around her.  Her faithful and compassionate spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.  

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 08, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service for Christine will be held at New Canaan Baptist Church on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Justin Harris officiating. Interment will follow at New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Bryce Barron, Landon Cochran, Chandler Adams, Craig Rainwater, David Rakestraw, and Ronnie Tibbitts serving as pallbearers and Michael Huff, Kenneth Huff, Steve Huff, David Huff, John Huff and Charles Brock serving as Honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Leukemia Foundation in honor of Christine's son, Danny Cochran.
