Russell Bradford Banks, Jr., age 82, of Carrollton, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. He was born in Fayetteville, GA, on October 14, 1930, to the late, Russell Bradford Banks, Sr. & the late, Evrie Griggs Banks Bowlden. Mr. Banks was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was the owner of Banks Well Drilling for 25 years and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Dallas, GA.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn B. Banks; son & daughter-in-law, Douglas & Cheryl Banks of Jackson Gap, AL; daughters & sons-in-law, Terri & Charles Vickery of McDonough, GA and Connie & Harris Johnson of Carrollton, GA; brothers, Harry Banks of Griffin, GA, Larry Banks of Grantville, GA, Bruce Banks of Fayetteville, GA and Jerry Banks of Greenville, GA; sisters, Shirlene Hoffman of Irving, TX, Judy Longsworth of Cumming, GA and Lynn Harrell of Hughes Springs, TX; grandchildren, David Alan Willbanks, Pamela LeClair, Jessica Vickery, Chris Vickery, Russell Scarbrough, Caitlin Smith and Walker Banks; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Vance, Brandon Willbanks, Jillian Scarbrough and Logan Scarbrough; great-great-grandchildren, Jake Vance and Lyla Vance; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 3:00 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor C. L. Powers and Pastor Scott Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2013, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
