Samuel Fouts

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Samuel Kevin Fouts, who left us peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 22, 1958, in Mableton, Geogia, the son of the late Mark Lindsey Fouts and the late Lucy McKelvy Fouts. Sam spent the latter part of his life in the serene town of Ellijay, Georgia, where he touched many lives with his infectious laughter and kind heart.

Sam dedicated many years to his career as a chemical salesman for Ecolab, forging lasting friendships along the way with colleagues and clients alike. He was not only known for his professionalism but also for his playful nature-a true prankster at heart, whose jovial spirit lightened the mood in every gathering. He was often called "Sam the ham." His playful spirit was matched only by his unwavering passion for Georgia Football, a love he carried proudly throughout his life.

A devoted animal lover, Sam cherished his two rescue dogs, Roscoe and Layla, who brought joy and companionship to his days. Music held a special place in Sam's heart; he was an enthusiastic drummer who reveled in the rhythms of life. Though he was an aspiring camper, equipped with all the necessary gear, he often found himself getting ready for adventures that rarely came to fruition. Still, his enthusiasm for the great outdoors was always present, reminding us of his adventurous spirit.

Sam found joy in life's simplest pleasures, whether it was enjoying a good meal-albeit sometimes delayed by the need to tidy his sink-or indulging in his unique guilty pleasure of burnt popcorn with hot sauce. His kindness and generosity were evident in every interaction, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Sam was also preceded in death by his nephew, Jeremy Wheeler.

Sam is survived by his two sons, Kevin Fouts and Mark (Ashley) Fouts; the mother of his sons, Vickie Fouts; his sister, Kaye Fouts (Frank) Wheeler; his brother, Lindsey (Rebecca) Fouts; a nephew, Brent Cunningham; several cousins and good friends.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will he held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025 in the Sam Clark Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Paulding Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia in Sam's memory, honoring his lifelong love for animals. You may mail a contribution to 1210 Veterans Drive, Dalton, Georgia 30721.

Sam's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. Rest in peace, dear friend.
