It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Lanette Bennett, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on December 2, 1952 in Melbourne, Florida, Sandra lived a life devoted to her family and friends, characterized by strength, compassion, and unwavering love.
Residing in Dallas, Georgia, Sandra was known for her avid love of reading and her fierce dedication to her loved ones. She embraced the role of caretaker, always putting others' needs before her own, and her enormous heart was a source of comfort for those around her. Sandra held her friends close, viewing them as an extended family, and her friends experienced her loyalty and support in every circumstance.
A woman of faith, Sandra deeply cherished her relationship with Jesus Christ, which guided her through both challenges and triumphs. She found joy in traveling, especially relishing the moments spent at Panama City Beach, where she created lasting memories with her family.
Sandra was a loving daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed and forever loved by all those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Danny Allen Bennett; her father, James Wilford Dempsey; and her sister, Linda Dempsey.
Sandra is survived by her beloved daughter, Danette (Rodney) Sellers; her loving partner of 14 years, Billy Barnett; her mother, Virginia Dempsey; stepchildren, Wesley (Kacy) Bennett, Natalie Marie Bennett; step-grandchildren, Cody Smith, Caleb White, Colton White, Ethan Bennett, Kaydan Bennett, Finley Bennett, Baileigh Sellers, Gracie Moon; step-great-grandchildren, River Bennett, Olivia Henderson, Colson Moon, Lainey Carlson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sandra will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Sam Clark Chapel beginning at 2:00 PM with Reverend Thomas Cole and Pastor Derrick Fowler officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas, Georgia with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Cody Smith, Ethan Bennett, Wesley Bennett, Bobby Thompson, Frankie Britton, and Buck Cole.
