Sarah Foster

August 11, 1925 — November 7, 2011

Sarah A. Foster, age 86, of Dallas, GA, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011. The daughter of the late, Clarence Stead Foster and the late, Elizabeth Cordelia Watson Foster, she was born August 11, 1925, in Paulding County. Ms. Foster’s brother, James C. (Jim) Foster, and a sister, Kate Foster, preceded her in death. She graduated from Dallas High School in 1942 and from LaGrange College in 1946. After college she returned home to work in the family business, The Dallas Hosiery Mill, and at her father’s death, she assumed management of the company. Ms. Foster later became the assistant to the comptroller of the Atlanta district office of Allstate Insurance Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dallas.
Survivors include her sister, Clare Nesmith of Marietta, GA; and nieces, Reverend Clare Nesmith and Deidre Leigh Mullis.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 10, 2011, at 11:00 AM, from the First United Methodist Church of Dallas, with Reverend Steve Schofield and Reverend Mary Ruth Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Dallas City Cemetery, with David Haisten, William Watson (J. W. "Bill"), Jr., Joseph S. Watson, Jr., J. W. (Bill) Watson, III, Reverend Steve Davidson and Sam Clark serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at Clark Funeral Home, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
