Scott Smith, age 43, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009. He was born October 19, 1965, in Atlanta, to Carl E. Smith and the late, Beverly J. Smith. Mr. Smith was the owner of JTS Flooring, Inc. and he was a member of Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Schwartz Smith of Dallas; father, Carl E. Smith of Dallas; daughter, Taylor Abigail Smith of Dallas; brother & sister-in-law, Mark & Edith Smith of Dallas; mother-in-law, Gail Schwartz of Powder Springs; sisters-in-law, Robin Gunter of Dallas, and Kim Schwartz of Dallas; nephew, Jason Smith; nieces, Christy Otwell, Kara Gunter, and Courtney Gunter; great-niece, Shelby Grace Smith; extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 2:00 pm, from West Ridge Church, with Reverend Jim Aiken and Reverend Kent Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park, with Steve Jones, Brent Buechler, Steve Fouche, Jeff Robinson, Hardy Adams, Judson Staton, and Scottie Seals serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Taylor Smith Scholarship Fund, c/o Virginia Busby, at any SunTrust Bank.
