Shirley Cox

Shirley Ann Cox, age 80 of Dallas, GA. passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. She was born on September 29, 1940 to her late parents, Elmer and Elsie Arnette. Shirley was a faithful member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA where she regularly attended Bible Study. She also enjoyed studying the history of genealogy. Shirley was very family oriented and especially loved caring for her grandchildren. For her profession, Shirley was a realtor for more than 20 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Franklin Cox, whom she married on August 11, 1962.

Shirley is survived by her sons; Dwayne (Sandra) Cox of Dallas, GA, Brian (Bernadette Camille) Cox of Barnsville, GA, Darin Cox of Marietta, GA, grandchildren; Morgan (Jessy) Atcheson of Dallas, GA, Brandon Cox of Dallas, GA., great-grandchild; Emmett Cox of Dallas, GA.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cox will be held at Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date at the Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Organization in honor of Mrs. Shirley Ann Cox.

If attending the visitation, the staff of Clark Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn, and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mrs. Cox safe.  The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who may be unable to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time).
