Shirley Jean Turner, age 74, of Hiram, GA, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was born June 11, 1937, in Talking Rock, GA, and was preceded in death by her father, James Love Godfrey, Sr.; mother, Bessie Mae McDougald; and son, Robert L. Holley, Jr. Mrs. Turner was a member of Cochran Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry J. Turner; daughter & son-in-law, Anita Holley Wilson & husband, Fred H. of Powder Springs, GA; step-sons,
Malcolm & Debbie Turner of Thomaston, GA, Brent & Wendy Turner of Thomaston, GA and Kyle Turner of Thomaston, GA; step-daughter, Monica & Mike Traylor of Dallas, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, James & Charlotte Godfrey of Gainesville, GA, Jerry & Connie Godfrey of Dallas, GA, Donnie & Gola Godfrey of Gainesville, GA, and Danny & Debbie Godfrey of Toccoa, GA; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; great aunt, Lillie Mae Pendley of Jasper, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 3:00 PM, from Cochran Ridge Baptist Church, with Pastor Rick Eaves officiating. Mrs. Turner will lie-in-state at the church Wednesday, April 25, 2012, from 2:00 PM until the service time. Interment will follow the service in Cochran Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Clark Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
