Steven "Wayne" Austin

Steven "Wayne" Austin passed away in his home on August 11, 2023. He was born on June 30, 1956 to Roy and Grace Austin in Douglasville, Georgia. Wayne was a lifelong resident of Paulding County and graduated from Paulding County High School and worked as an auto technician the majority of his career. He and his wife, Leslie, were married 46 years. Wayne loved to travel, and he was able to travel through all contiguous forty-eight states by motor home with Leslie and three of his grandchildren, Alaina, Jason, and Brett. His youngest granddaughter, Claire, loved to entertain and play games with him. Wayne was very loved and he will be missed by many.

Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Austin and his sister, Charlotte Vandiver. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Leslie Austin; his daughters, April (Joseph) Ludeman, Melissa (Josh) Holmes; his grandchildren, Alaina and Jason Ludeman, Brett Leonard and Claire Holmes; his father, Roy "Possum" Austin; and his siblings, Randy Austin, Cheryl Hembree, Janice Southerland, Ray Austin.

A private service for Mr. Wayne will be held at a later date.
