Thomas Dempsey Ellis, age 68, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011. He was born on October 11, 1942, in Marietta, GA, to the late Everett & Thelma Ellis, and was preceded in death by his brother, Lautt Ellis, and sister, Juanita Kuenneke. Mr. Ellis was a United States Coast Guard Veteran. He retired from IBM as a computer analyst after 30 years of service. Mr. Ellis attended Elizabeth School and Sprayberry High School, both in Marietta.
Survivors include, wife of 50 years, Delores Ellis of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Ellis of Dallas, Zina & Scott Cole of Powder Springs, and Kelda & “Tuffy” Williams of Dallas; brothers and sister-in-law, Benson & Joann Ellis of Struthers, OH, Mike Ellis of Columbus, OH, and George Ellis of Dallas, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bennie & Charles George of Powder Springs, and Judy & David Cobb of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Ellis Gabriẽl Williams of Dallas, Annabelle Victoria Williams, of Dallas, and David Eric Cole of Powder Springs
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 10 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Kenny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 22, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
