Thomas O'Neal Evans

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas O'Neal Evans, aged 82, of Dallas, Georgia. Neal was born on December 14, 1942, and departed this life peacefully on April 7, 2025.

Neal dedicated over 40 years to the construction industry as a building contractor, a vocation he relished and took immense pride in. His passion extended beyond work; he was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, a collector of knives and coins, and enjoyed attending car shows. A lover of classic westerns, Neal found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Neal will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his dedication to his craft, and the love he shared with those around him. He cherished his family and was a pillar of strength and support throughout their lives.

Neal was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Evans; his parents, Leo Evans and Dovie Wilkins Evans; and brothers, J.D. Evans, Dale Evans, Fred Evans, and Ted Evans.

He is survived by his son, Steve (Karol) Evans; his daughter, Michelle Hutcheson; four grandchildren, Dusty and Heather, Zach and Courtney, Evan and Khristina, Kinsley and James; nine great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Bladen, Emersyn, Ryder, Jake, Judson, Rinley, Elliot, and one on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Leroy Evans, Tim Evans, Bessie Tims, Brenda Evans; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Funeral Services for Mr. Evans will begin at 11:00 AM at Sam Clark Chapel with Pastor Glen Pitman officiating.

Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park with his family serving as pallbearers.
