Timothy “Tim” Dale Rakestraw, age 55, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016. He was born on July 23, 1961, in Atlanta, GA, and was preceded in death by his father, James “J.D” Dale Rakestraw. Tim was a member of High Shoals Baptist Church and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He loved his children and grandchildren, enjoyed helping with the barbecue dudes from Burnt Hickory, and the Raccoon Creek Music Festival. Mr. Rakestraw was an avid hunter and member of the rattlesnake knob hunting club.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Rakestraw of Dallas, GA; son, Brad Rakestraw of Dallas, GA; daughter, Niki & Caine Estep of Dallas, GA; step-daughter, Lindsey & Chris McCullough of Dallas, GA; mother, Marie, and husband Rev. George Barnett of Dallas, GA; step-mother, Mindi Rakestraw of Dallas, GA; brother, Steve & Stephanie Rakestraw; nephew, Lane & Cheyenne Rakestraw; niece Amy Rakestraw; grandchildren, Shyen, Ashten, Raygan, Ava, Kaydin, Rylyn, Paytin, Piper, Bear, Maevi, Justin and Wyatt; many aunts & uncles.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 2 PM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Jason Morgan and Reverend Donnie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in High Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. Corey Lee, Steve Turner, Robby Turner, Mark Gordon, Mike Jones, Steve Golden, Mark Evette, Gerald Hamm, will serve as pallbearers. Ashten, Rylyn and Justin will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, from 4 PM until 8 PM.
