Tyler Fernando Ortega

Tyler Fernando Ortega, age 29, of Rockmart, GA, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019. He was born on September 26, 1989 in Atlanta, GA, to Fernando and Jana Ortega. Tyler had worked as a heating and air technician for Ragsdale Heating and Air and attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed motorcycle riding, Georgia Bulldogs football, spending time with his friends, fishing, four wheeling and going to his “Mimi’s” lake house. Tyler loved his daughter, Chesney, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his beloved daughter, Chesney Tyler Ortega of Yorkville, GA, his fiancé, Amelia Burleson of Woodstock, GA, parents, Fernando and Jana Ortega of Rockmart, GA, grandmother, Dianne St. John of Wedowee, AL, aunt, Julie and Chuck Starcher of Woodstock, GA, and their daughter Gabby Gasaway.

A memorial service for Mr. Ortega will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 5:00 PM from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Pastor David Birchfield officiating. The family will receive friends at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 4:00 PM until the service begins at 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for Children’s Ministry.
