Virginia Godfrey

Virginia “Tony” Godfrey, age 73, of Dallas, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born July 12, 1938, in Atlanta, GA, to the late, Leland S. Garner, Sr. & the late, Hazel Matilda Key Garner. Her husband, Curtis L. Godfrey, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Godfrey was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Tina & Brian Sumpter of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Holly (Charles) Fountain, Ryan Sumpter and Patrick Sumpter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 11:00 AM, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend James Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory Flat, GA, with Jimmy Robinson, Rick Robinson, Michael Robinson, John Matthews, Lamar Manning and Richard Metcalf serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
