Warren McLendon, Sr

Warren S. McLendon, Sr., age 87, of Dallas, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008. He was born in Biscoe, NC, on May 29, 1921, and was preceded in death by his parents, Abby Stamey McLendon & Hattie Lorena McLendon, his first wife, Hattie Jane Thompson McLendon, and his second wife, Christie Cochran McLendon. Mr. McLendon was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Yorkville Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Alapatah, FL.
Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Warren (Pepper) & Jane McLendon, Jr. of Dallas; brother & sister-in-law, Paul & Jean McLendon of Biscoe, NC; sisters & brothers-in-law, Mavis & Ralph Knight of Tyner, NC, Rachel & Charles Miller of Troy, NC, Anabelle Martin of Belair, MD, and Archie Lewis of Harlingen, TX; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 3:00pm, from Clark Funeral Home, with Brother Todd Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Baptist Church Cemetery. Dave Strickler, Jim Feather, Eston Smith, Bobby Johnson, Mike McFall and T. J. Brown will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
