William Gray

William "Ernest" Gray, 84, peacefully passed away on November 13, 2023, at the Wellstar Hospice Center at Cobb.

Born on December 30, 1938, in Coweta County, Georgia, to Willie Autry Gray and Opal Hendrix Gray, Ernest attended Western High School in Newnan, Georgia and later served in the Navy. Ernest dedicated much of his life to his career as a skilled HVACR technician. In addition to his devotion to his career and loved ones, he had a special interest in Elvis, whose music always brought joy to his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Gray, and his beloved children: Tammy King, Scott Gray, Kristi Hulen, Vicky Lollis, and Chris Newbern. Ernest's memory will forever resonate in the hearts of his grandchildren: Amy Carr, Brad Sweet, Tyler King, Austin King, Justin Gray, Kristen Lollis, Casey Lollis, Kaylee Hulen, Aaron Hulen, Joshua Gray, Kaitlyn Gray, Mylee Gray, Brandon Elrod, and Michael Elrod. His legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren: Mason Stanley, Andrew Stanley, Landon Stanley, Bailey Carr, Chloe Carr, Gracie Lollis, Lyric Jones, CJ Jones, and Knox King.

Ernest is preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his brothers, Larry Gray and Rayburn Gray. He is now reunited with them, as well as the many beloved pets he cherished throughout his life.
