Mr. William John Moore, Jr., age 81, of Rockmart, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023. Bill, as he was affectionately known as by his family and friends, was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 7, 1942, the son of the late William John Moore, Sr. and the late Reba Hilda Camp McDonald. Bill was a former home builder and a welder. He was a Christian by faith.
In his spare time, Bill enjoyed music. He was an avid guitarist and also enjoyed woodworking. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years, Rebekah Moore; step-son, Wesley Chandler; siblings: Richard Moore, Thomas Moore, Frances Beasley, Dorothy Ellis, Barbara Woods, and Ann Watson; and, his beloved dog, Ava.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joy Moore; his granddaughter, Misty Chandler Watts and her husband, Adam; two great-grandchildren: Maya Watts and Maverick Watts; nieces and nephew: Dawn (Tommy) Southern, Christina (Stephen) Luttrell, Maria Wilmot, and Brian (Natalia) Moore; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, Georgia on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from Noon until the service hour of 2:00 pm.
The Funeral Service will follow the visitation in Clark Chapel with Mr. Mark Wilson officiating. Charles Harris will provide a saxophone solo.
Following the service, Bill will be cremated according to his wishes.
