Willie Mae Palmer, age 88, of Dallas, (formerly of Lithia Springs) passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. She was born in Rome, GA, on February 24, 1919, and was preceded in death by her parents, William Marvin Hughes & Alice Lee Lynn Hughes; her husband, James Lewis "Bud" Palmer; a daughter, Jackie Pettway; and her brother, Claude Hughes. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Lithia Springs First United Methodist Church and she had been attending New Hope First Baptist Church in Dallas.
Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Glenda Boatright & husband, Larry of Dallas; sons & daughters-in-law, Kenneth Palmer & wife, Melinda of Kennesaw and Terry Palmer & wife, Lari of Whitesburg; son-in-law, Steve Pettway of Acworth; sister, Vesta Bailey of Douglasville; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2008, at 11:00am, from Clark Funeral Home, with Reverend Durwood Perry and Reverend Frank Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park, Atlanta, GA. Travis Boatright, Alan Pettway, Keith Pettway, Gary Lee, Hughie Lind and Nathan Lee will serve as pallbearers and Nicolas Lee will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center Activity Fund, Attn: Imogene, 600 West Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132.
