Willis Alexander, age 85, of Albany, GA, formerly of Paulding County, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008. He was born to the late Robert & Mary Sims Alexander, on May 6, 1922, in Paulding County. A son, Tony Alexander, preceded him in death. Mr. Alexander was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked as a barber and was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Floy T. Alexander of Albany; son, Norman Alexander of Hiram; daughters, Mary Willene Alexander of Hiram, Larris Alexander of Hiram, Sharon Darlene Dobbs of Hiram, and Myranda Flemister of Powder Springs; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008, at 1:00pm, from Sweet Home Baptist Church, with Elder Leonard Andrews and Reverend Dr. Jeffery Wimbush officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. Mr. Alexander will lie-in-state at the church from 12:00noon until the service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
